Allotments "Stora Mossen" in Stockholm Sweden

Welcome to Stora Mossen koloniförening in Bromma Stockholm. Ten of the allotment areas were open for visitors with a special program on August 22 2009. Here is some atmosphere from one of them. Charm, beauty, gardening and people who socialize.
I took a stroll here, and it was wonderful. The whole idea about allotments are great. From the beginning it was a way for people to grow their vegetables to have food during especially first world war, and a way to live a more healty life as a contrast to the small apartments in the city. Fresh air and food. Today its the same, but people don´t grow as much vegetables, instead the flowers bloom, and people can enjoy putting their hands in the earth.

Beginning of 1920s, small houses has been built on the allotments.

1921. A little girl, Elvi Flodin outside her family allotment in Bromma.
